Chinese Szhou silk embroidery

Szou silk embroidery is one of the few stiles in Chinese embroidery - an ancient art of embroidering with silk threads. It is known for painstaking precision and breathtaking color nuances. Here are some of the examples that I was able to find on the web.

These wonderful creations are made by Odile Gova, a very talented stay at home mom from Canada. It was very hard for me not to continue putting up pictures, because everything she makes is so wonderful. Cross stitch on..metal?!

I know I probably say it too much, but the capacity for human creativity never ceases to amaze me. Who would even think of embroidering a car door? Or a frying pan?
The amazing Severija Incirauskaite-Kriauneviciene did think of it and did it. Why? Because she found a way to make a thought into an object of art for all to see.

I found this amazing artist by chance, actually. Meet, Kirsten Chursinoff. Any kind of needlework is very special to me, and her art is so delicate and vibrant.. I just love starting at it.
