Ellery Gutierrez: Life-like paintings

Ellery Gutierrez has been painting since he was a young child, inspired by the Renaissance artists of Italy whose work he discovered in art history books.

Such was his enthusiasm that he started out as a self-taught artist, experimenting with drawing before moving to Caracas, where he began taking courses in drawing and painting in various artist studios, specializing in still life and oil painting.

His large-scale, realist paintings of tropical fruits reveal his passion for light and color, which he uses in an accomplished and delicate manner to enhance the succulent nature of his chosen subjects.

Venezuela’s national flower, the orchid, also features prominently in his detailed and sensuous depictions. GutiĆ©rrez has exhibited his work widely in Venezuela, participating in a range of group and solo exhibitions from 1993 to the present day.

Unique porcelain cups

I don't know who manufactures these beauties, although I would love to find out. I imagine Alice sipping cup from those while hanging out with the flowers. If I had to pick a favorite, I think I would pick the peacock feather one. But all of them are really amazing...

Skia's foxes

Skia is a German artist, who is simply enchanting. I especially adore her foxes, who are, believe me, will force you to fall in love with them.
Please visit the artist's gallery for her other artwork.Unfortunately I was unable to find much more about the artist. If you know of her, or have more information, please let me know.

Maria's world of light

The artwork of Maria Kamenskaya seems to breath with light and joy. Talented illustrator and artist was born in 1983 in Rostov-on-Don, and now lives in Moscow.
I especially love her works with snails (of course).
Please be sure to visit her site, and see a large gallery of her works.

Cross stitch on..metal?!

I know I probably say it too much, but the capacity for human creativity never ceases to amaze me. Who would even think of embroidering a car door? Or a frying pan?
The amazing Severija Incirauskaite-Kriauneviciene did think of it and did it. Why? Because she found a way to make a thought into an object of art for all to see.
Isn't that amazing?
